I interpreted this speculative set and costume design of Hamlet as based in a 1960s phsyc ward and retro futurism. There is a shift where all the charcters are regular patients, however as Hamlet comes into the play, everyone becomes a charcter in Hamlet, all being in Hamlet's head.
