The story- Brackenhurst

A student lecture welcomes the audience into the house. As they walk into the house, the lecture gets lost in the crowd, leaving for the audience to explore alone. Throughout the rooms, 21st century students are walking around the place and sitting down to study. They are oblivious to the people in the past but the ghosts of the past can see them.

Room 1- In the dining room, there sets a scene of chaos and blood shed. Beds are filled with wounded soilders, where mud has dragged through and nurses are struggling with the amount of people coming in. Ted, one of George Savile Foljambe sons has been wounded and is a patient. George comes in worried. He sees how overwhelming everything is then runs out to the balcony room. A nurse follows him.

Room 2- in the balcony room, 21st students are studying with a lecturer. George is in distress worrying about how he is going to be able to look after his family.
Room 3- the maids room have maids run down going in and out and trying to help out with the nurses and helps out with the other children. The story of there own follows serving people and people can get a taste of what it was like and their daily chores.

Room 4- the kitchen would have the chefs and servants panicking over the food shortages and all the patients they have to feed. The chef could cook a great big meal for George’s family of meats and have no sign on food shortage. The rich food would be taken into the dining room where the soilders are in hospital beds. George’s family eat in front of the patients whilst theyre eating rations.

Room 5- the childrens room of George are having fun playing and learning, being oblivious of the war, being protected from the outside world. They are well dressed and with the governess who is disciplining them as they are trying to interact with the 21st century students.

There is an air raid siren and all the past charcters duck. To gather everyone up at the end, the lecturer returns and says ‘where have you been, come on, its time for closing.
